iPhone 4S.. The Best Yet

iPhone 4S

I recently purchased the iPhone 4S and haven't put it down since. The device is the best on the market. As a technology freak, I've tried out most phone brands and used them for extended periods of time. Every situation is better handled with the iPhone 4S . The key updates with the iPhone 4S are Siri (Personal Assistant), speed boost (A5 chip), and the 8 MP camera.

Siri is absolutely amazing, surprising me every time I use it. Siri answers almost any question you throw at it. It's intelligent speech recognition gets all words that you say, no matter how complicated. Beyond that, Siri understands the command and will either answer in it's own words or search it on the web for you. It's something you have to see to believe and I will be posting a video shortly to test out the technology.

The speed boost with the brand new A5 chip that has been in the iPad is astonishing. The speeds have doubled with downloads, browsing, etc. Also, the graphic in apps like Infinity Blade have increased a whopping seven times. I would normally despise going to my Blackberry and Droid when I wanted to look something on the internet because it took so long. With the iPhone 4S any internet browsing is lightning fast. It's as if the phone is running on 4G.

The 8 MP camera on the iPhone 4S is perfect and the absolute best out there . I just sold my 16 MP camera because I realized that my iPhone 4S was actually taking better pictures in all situations.  The lighting, crystal clear images, and more make this the best of the best in the phone camera world. The 1080p HD video is the last thing that blows away competition with its amazing footage.

This is my short review on the iPhone 4S and I plan to update a video at some point going into further detail.

iPhone Finally Comes to Verizon

VERIZON IPHONE

The Verizon iPhone, rumored to come out since the original in 2007, is finally here. Considering that I've wanted one since then, the question is whether or not it's worth it. Three main reasons that you have to consider before owning the iPhone are the performance, price, and how useful it really is.

Performance is the primary reason that Apple has been so successful over the 35 years its been in operation. Every single one of their products have been top of the line, popular items, and judging from their stock, they've gained popularity. As for the iPhone, it's managed to earn top of the line reviews from most anyone who has one. The interface has amazing simplicity, and is the best I've seen. Each individual app performs fabulously, even when switching in between applications using the multi-tasking option. To continue, one of my favorite parts is the functionality of the camera. It feels as if you're carrying around a top-of-the-line camera, but amazingly it's a device only .37 inches thick. The list could go on forever, but just from these few instances, the performance can be considered above the average rating.

The price ($199) of the iPhone is the same in comparison to most other smart phones with a 2-yr-contract, but once you step out of that, Apple will slam you with a $600 charge for the 16GB iPhone, $700 for the 32GB, and it goes up from there. Yes other smart phones have the raised charges for the phone without a contract, but Apple manages to win in the top price battle. From my perspective $700 for a phone is outrageous, and would probably decide to wait until my update is up. From a  financial perspective, a tight budget  doesn't agree with this phone. This is because not only do you have to pay for the texting and voice plan, but they add in the $30 monthly charge for internet capabilities and it's mandatory. So before making a snap decision on getting  this phone, you always have to consider the long-term fees incorporated within the purchase.

From past experiences, I know that smart phones are great, but realized that without a real purpose to have one, it's a waste. When looking at the iPhone, it has a vast array of incredible features including a great web browser, email, iPod, and apps that help get everyday tasks done. For instance, when using the iPhone, you can click on the weather channel app and within seconds see a seven-day forecast. Many people don't bother investing the money in smart phones because they believe that even if they did have the option to use the web browser, it would be too slow to use. With the iPhone that isn't the case at all. Web speeds using 3G service surprised me everywhere I went. Beyond that, my recommendation is to have a reason behind purchasing an iPhone. Yes all the features are great, but it really comes down to the difference between wanting it or needing it.
